CIHS On-Site Facilities: Wi-Fi, Lounges, and Business Services Guide
At CIHS, three on-site facilities will decide whether you leave the halls with a full lead list or a dead phone and a missed meeting: Wi-Fi, lounges, and business services. This guide covers what is available at SNIEC, what to prepare before you fly, and how to use each service without losing sourcing time.
CIHS 2026 will cover 120,000 square meters of exhibition space. The previous edition recorded 2,977 exhibitors and 77,016 professional buyers from 123 countries and regions [1]. That volume explains why venue basics matter: signal congestion, seating, and counter queues all change sharply by midday.
Wi-Fi at CIHS and SNIEC: What Actually Works
SNIEC provides public Wi-Fi in concourses and some hall entrance areas, but coverage is not uniform across all exhibition halls [2]. During peak hours, the network slows when thousands of visitors connect at once.
Treat venue Wi-Fi as backup. Use mobile data for anything critical, including supplier messages, price checks, and navigation.
Before You Fly: Set Up Mobile Internet
Install a tested VPN before you leave home. Many international business apps are blocked or unreliable in mainland China, and downloading a VPN after arrival may not be possible.
Choose a data path in advance. A local SIM or eSIM usually costs less than international roaming for data-heavy days, but you will need your passport to register a local SIM.
Download offline copies of the CIHS exhibitor list, hall map, and your meeting schedule. Do not rely on cloud access once you are inside the halls.
On the Show Floor
Save Wi-Fi for light tasks such as email checks. For video calls or large file transfers, move to a concourse, a lounge, or an outside hall space where the signal is usually better.
Metal booth structures and crowd density create dead zones. If a page will not load, walk 20 meters toward the hall entrance before assuming your device is the problem.

Lounges, Seating, and Where to Recover
Standing for eight hours is not a sourcing strategy. The useful rest points at CIHS fall into three groups: organizer buyer lounges, general hall seating, and café areas.
Organizer and Buyer Lounges
Hosted Buyer and VIP registration gives access to dedicated lounges with seating, charging, and quieter space for supplier follow-up [3]. If you qualify, apply before the fair; lounge capacity is easier to arrange in advance than during morning registration.
General rest areas are positioned near hall junctions, but they fill quickly between 12:00 and 14:00. Take an early or late lunch to avoid the worst of the rush.
Food Courts and Quieter Corners
SNIEC food courts are convenient but noisy. For a working lunch, choose a table after the 12:00 peak or use a café seat on the upper concourse.
A quieter corner is also useful for reviewing supplier notes. Ten minutes away from the aisle often turns a rushed conversation into a clear decision.

Business Services: Printing, Scanning, and Meeting Space
You will need three services most often: printing supplier questions, scanning signed documents, and finding a private table for a fast negotiation.
Visitor Service Desks and Business Counters
SNIEC service counters handle badge reprint, venue maps, and general directions [2]. For printing and scanning, ask at the CIHS visitor services desk or the business center; services may be paid and can be slower during the midday peak.
Do not wait until the last minute to print an RFQ. Queue times rise sharply after lunch, and a missed print job can delay a supplier meeting by 30 minutes.
On-Site Meeting Rooms
If a supplier wants to go through a price list line by line, do not do it in the aisle. Pre-book a private meeting room through the CIHS visitor services or Hosted Buyer desk, or ask the supplier to reserve their booth meeting area.
Bring a printed RFQ or a pre-saved form on your tablet. A written agenda keeps the meeting shorter and leaves less room for missed points.

Need help on the ground?
If Wi-Fi or meeting space becomes a bottleneck, our Buyer Services Team can point you to the nearest service desk or help you rebook a lounge slot. Email [email protected] with your badge number and the hall you are in, and we will route you to the right on-site staff.
Power, Payments, and Other Small Things That Slow You Down
Power outlets are not available everywhere. Carry a 10,000 mAh power bank and charge it overnight; some lounges and business counters offer charging, but capacity is limited.
Alipay and WeChat Pay are widely used across Shanghai, and international cards are accepted at many larger counters. Keep a small amount of RMB as backup for older food stalls and lockers.
Download offline maps of SNIEC and your hotel area before arrival. On-site navigation is easier when your phone is not fighting for signal.

Plan Your CIHS Visit
Confirm your badge, pre-book your lounge access, and put a mobile data backup in place before you reach the venue. If you have not yet registered for CIHS 2026, complete visitor registration through the official CIHS visitor system so your badge is ready at the counter.
CIHS On-Site Facilities: FAQ
Is Wi-Fi free at CIHS?
Public Wi-Fi is available in parts of SNIEC, but it is best treated as a convenience, not a work tool. Mobile data is the safer primary option.
Can I rely on venue Wi-Fi for video calls?
No. During peak hours the network is congested, and a video call may drop. Schedule supplier calls from your hotel or use mobile data or a dedicated hotspot.
Are there business services for printing and scanning?
Yes. SNIEC service counters and the CIHS visitor services desk can direct you to printing, copying, and scanning services. Expect fees and queues during the midday peak.
Is there a buyer lounge at CIHS?
Yes. Hosted Buyer and VIP lounges provide seating, charging, and workspace. General rest areas are also available but fill quickly between 12:00 and 14:00.
Do I need a VPN in China?
For most international business apps, yes. Install and test one before you depart; after you arrive, downloading one may not be possible.
Can I charge devices on-site?
Some lounges and business counters offer charging, but capacity is limited. Carry a power bank and charge it overnight.
